house cleanFor many of us, finding the time to clean our houses is not easy.  With a very busy life, how can you possibly make time to keep up on cleaning?  So I though, why not have a house cleaning checklist?

I think that every one of us already knows how to clean, and even the most fastidious of us makes cleaning a top priority.  Having a good checklist has helped me clean my house faster and more efficiently, but it also helped me to tighten up the whole process of getting it done more speedily.

Having a checklist can make a huge difference in cleaning your house; it can save you a lot of time for other stuff (that can be way more important!).  With a checklist, you can have much more time to do things that you’d much rather do!

A house cleaning checklist makes sure that you get your cleaning done on a regular basis. What a checklist will do is set up a big reminder to you about what needs to be cleaned next so that you don’t need to waste too many brain cells trying to remember or even think about your house cleaning.

Here’s some good ideas for creating your checklist:

1. The date should be at the top of the list.

2.  Divide the list into rooms.

3.  Each room has “must do” and “occasional” tasks.

4.  Make a checkbox for marking when the chore is completed.

5.  Set a time for each cleaning job so you know approximately how long it will take.

6.  At the end of the list have a box for “supplies needed” for when you run out of things.

7.  You might want to add a box or line for commenting on which cleaning products you specifically like the best.  You might want to note why you like it.  Does the product create a better shine, clean better, remove grease?  Write it down.

How to use your cleaning checklist:

Print out a copy of your checklist and keep it with you as you clean each room.  That way you won’t forget anything.  It will also keep you organized and on the right track.  I tend to wander off and do ten million things at once.  This way I stay more focused.

And guess what?  Even cleaning professionals use a checklist!  (I’ll bet you didn’t know that!)  You get to be creative and come up with your own method for making a cleaning checklist.  Don’t forget–this will definitely make your cleaning job easier.  Plus, it will give you much-needed time to do other things that can be way more fun that cleaning the house.
