My dear friend,
It has been an amazing six months since the Lord
called me back full-time to Coming Clean
Ministries. Not only has He given me a clear vision
and direction for the ministry, He has blessed me in
the past six months with some of the most amazing
young people on earth, and most important He has
reconfirmed His calling on my life on numerous
occasions. In essence, He has given me a fresh
anointing of His spirit. Today, I want to tell you
about some of those times He has reconfirmed His
calling on my life.
In February of this year my dear brother and mentor
Manny Mill invited me to travel with him to see what
God is doing at the Louisiana State Penitentiary
known as
Angola.
I had heard of this prison because of its notoriety
for being the bloodiest prison in
America
and at the same time it was the location where
numerous films such as Dead Man Walking, and
Shawshank Redemption were filmed. Since that day I
have now gone back four times and each time it has
been an amazing experience. As I have written to
you before, at
Angola I
have seen Jesus face to face in a manner I have
never seen Him before.
May of this year I was invited by Warden Cain to
attend the
Angola
annual rodeo and at night conduct the chapel
service. I took my very dear friends Jim Pace,
James Beabout, Jared Adams, and my five year old
son, Estevan. Can you imagine taking your precious
gift from God into a prison full of murderers,
rapist, and hard core criminal? Can you imagine
doing the chapel service and while you speak your
son is running around among those men, hugging them
and kissing them? I can, and there is no other
place that I rather take my son to experience the
love of Christ than
Angola.
That night God showed up in an amazing manner and
many souls came to meet the only hope they will ever
have, Jesus!
From
Angola
we flew to
Mobile
Alabama where to
conduct a youth rally at the church my brother and
former Federal Parole Officer, Ken Cole, attends.
It was another amazing confirmation as a concerned
mother came up to me sometime before the service was
to begin and told me that while she was praying that
day the Lord told her to take her son to hear me
speak. That lady did not even belong to that
church, and had only heard of the event over the
radio. But, what was amazing was the night before
her son got arrested for drug charges. She bailed
him out and that night he came to hear me speak. At
the end of the night I lead her son to our Lord
Jesus Christ and we all three cried and prayed that
Jesus would fill that young man’s life with the Holy
Spirit.
In May I was invited to return to Winona Minnesota
and do another youth rally at Rock Solid Ministry
with my brother Greg Mosher. The morning before the
rally I had the opportunity to speak at two public
High Schools. I shared a message of how critical it
is for us to come clean and live a life of
transparency and that if we’re to be in a position
to not only help ourselves but help those we love,
we have to come clean with God and with those whom
we love, to stop living a fake life and be real.
About lunch time eight of us where sitting around
Rock Solid talking about the night’s event, when
suddenly this beautiful young lady who heard me
speak at her High School that morning came in and
began to talk to us. She started by thanking me for
coming that morning to her high school and what an
impact my speech had on many students. Suddenly,
out of nowhere, in front of complete strangers she
began to weep. She began to come clean with us and
tell us how crucial this message was for today’s
youth. She shared how she was raped by her grand
father and how much it still hurts, but that what
hurts her the most is that her best friend was raped
in school and she did not have the strength to share
with her how she had been raped and how critical it
was for her to report that act.
As we sat at the
Rock
Solid
Youth
Center we
listened as this amazing young lady come clean,
began to find healing, and to believe that now she
was in a position to use the tragedy in her life to
help other young girls. The fastest growing crime
in
America
is date rape. This amazing young lady was now
free! After coming clean with complete strangers
she now believes that God will heal her wounds so
that she can help heal others. Was this not what
Christ did, use His wounds to heal us? (I Peter 2:
24).
My friend, coming clean is a simple idea that has
been there since the beginning of times. Adam had
to come clean with God and Jesus set the example for
us today as He came clean with His apostles about
His temptations. Coming clean is the most
liberating concept. Christ tells us to confess our
sins one to another so that we may be saved.
Amazing! Salvation is dependant upon of
confession. Coming clean is the foundation for us
to be real one with another and to be in a position
to truly minister to a hurting world.
God bless you,
Jorge
