My dear friend, The past two weeks I have reported on two amazing gifts that God has given our ministry. For the next month I want to take this opportunity to bring you up to date not only on all that has been happening so rapidly over the last couple of months, but also on the new direction the ministry is taking. In today's E-letter I want to finish reporting on the two other amazing young people God has blessed me with and what key roles they will play in the new Coming Clean Ministries. If you read my book, "Coming Clean" you will recall years ago when I lived in Miami I had begun flight training in the hopes of being a pilot and flying my own airplanes. These plans were suddenly interrupted by March of 1979, when General Noriega impeded my ability to get my private pilot's license as he accommodated me in his special hotel in Panama. Well, last February as I nearly burned out as a result of running a full time business, a part time ministry, taking care of a widow mother, dealing with an ex-wife and three teenage children I had no control over, and many other factors, I went to Falcon Field airport and decided to resume flight training. When I signed up to take flying lessons I was assigned to a pilot with whom I could not connect. I asked to be given another instructor and I was blessed with a young man whom has become a big part of my life. Jared Adams had just moved to Peachtree City from Jamestown NY and he and I connected immediately. I saw something very special in this young man and I knew God had a special plan for his life. To be honest, I never thought that plan would unite us longer than me getting my private pilot's license. God had another plan and Jared has now become like one of my own children. While flying the Lord gave me the vision to use aviation as a tool to reach the youth who in most part has a defeated sense of being. Most young people today have at one time or another received the message that they are no good or not good enough and that no one believes in them. I realized that I could use flying to change this message, disciple them, and bring them into an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. When you take a young person up in an airplane and give him/her the controls you have just said to them that you believe in them and that by flying an airplane they have achieved something very amazing. This is where God has tremendously blessed Coming Clean Ministries and me with Jared. Jared dreamed of being a commercial pilot some day. He worked day and night to achieve his dream, and then we met. He taught me to fly and I taught him to love our Lord Jesus Christ. One day he came to me and said: "I believe that I want to spend the rest of my life using my skills to change the world with you." Jared is growing in Christ every day and he is developing our aviation program. Through aviation Coming Clean Ministries will give hope and valuable life skills to a youth who want to die. Next summer we will conduct ten one week aviation camps where we can minister to kids and to their parents. It is our dream to use aviation to unite kids with their parents. Please pray for our ministry as we develop these programs. My friend God is doing amazing things through Coming Clean Ministries. Next week I will tell you about the Coming Clean Substance Abuse Program. It is our dream and prayer that Coming Clean Ministries can be the center to educate families on how to be proactive for we believe that together we can win the war on drugs. God bless you, Jorge
